After five years of quiet, West Hollywood-based developer Faring is getting plans for an office complex along the Sunset Strip back on track.
The City of West Hollywood is now recirculating an environmental impact report for the 9160-9176 Sunset Boulevard, which would replace a shuttered car dealership with a five-story which calls for the construction of a five-story building featuring 52,999 square feet of offices above commercial space and an 86-car garage.
Gensler remains the architect for the project, which would include a terraced low-rise structure that pares down in height toward the residential neighborhood to the south of the Strip. Upper-level setbacks and offset floor plans would be used to create outdoor decks for tenants, while digital would potentially wrap the exterior of the structure.
Changes from the project last presented in 2021 include a reduction to the amount of proposed parking and the size of digital signage along the exterior of the building.
The report now estimates a 19-mohth construction timeline for the project, pending approvals by the City of West Hollywood and other government agencies.
Faring is attached to numerous projects within the City of West Hollywood, as well as several residential developments in the South Bay.
