The latest location in the Level Hotels and Furnished Suites chain has made its debut at the Onni East Village development in Downtown Long Beach, developer Onni Group announced this month.
The hotel, which will cater to guests seeking stays for 30 days or more, is located in new mixed-use complex at 200 N. Long Beach Boulevard. Previously known as the Broadway Block, the project includes a 23-story high-rise facing 3rd Street to the north and a seven-story podium-type building fronting Broadway to the south. The bulk of the property is devoted to housing, featuring 400 apartments, with rents ranging from just under $2,900 per month to as much as $15,000 per month.
The Level extended-stay units range from 709 to 1,118 square feet in size, and come in a mix of one- and two-bedroom suites. Guest amenities include a gym, an outdoor pool, pet runs, and athletic facilities.
In addition to the hotel and housing, the East Village complex also features 23,000 square feet of retail and restaurant space, located above a two-level, 501-car subterranean parking garage located below. The Acres of Books Building, a Long Beach historic landmark in the center of the property, is slated to reopen as a 9,300-square-foot food hall.
Onni Group, which broke ground on the Broadway Block in late 2019, retooled earlier entitlements secured by the Ratkovich Group to expand the total number of apartments within the project by 32 units. Those units have since been converted into the aforementioned Level hotel rooms.
Onni already has several other Level outposts in Southern California, including locations within Hope + Flower and 825 S. Hill Street in Downtown Los Angeles, as well as an upcoming located 6901 W. Santa Monica Boulevard in Hollywood.
