Renderings Revealed: Mixed-use project at 305 E. Colorado St. in Glendale

Kevin Tsai Architecture has unveiled new details for an upcoming mixed-use development just off of Brand Boulevard in Glendale.

The proposed project, which would rise from the site of United Community Church at 305 E. Colorado Street, calls for the construction of interconnected six-story buildings containing 323 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above 9,143 square feet of ground-floor commercial space and parking for 474 vehicles.

Required approvals will include density bonus waivers, as well as a vacation of an adjoining alley way. In exchange, 33 of the new apartments would be set aside for very low-income renters.

Renderings show the completed project as a pair of contemporary six-story structures, divided by a common staircase opening onto Colorodo Street to the south. Plans show an exterior of stucco with inset balconies and wood accents. Outdoor seating would line a portion of the ground level.

The property is located a short walk to the east of Glendale Central Park, where construction is expected to conclude later this year for the Armenian American Museum.
