SRM Development is prepping for construction for a new senior housing complex in Encino, the Washington-based real estate firm's second project in the Los Angeles area.
Crews have recently cleared a small commercial building located at 16161 Ventura Boulevard, where SRM has secured entitlements for a new project dubbed Vered on Ventura. In its place, plans call for the construction of a new six-story building containing 107 assisted living units and 16 memory care apartments.
Urbal Architecture is designing Vered, which is depicted in renderings as a contemporary podium-type building with a U-shaped elevated courtyard and a series of terrace decks overlooking Ventura Boulevard.
Per a project website, the building will also include a sky lounge, a common dining area, a bistro, a gym, a salon, a nurse’s office, an outdoor movie viewing area, a dining area, and a dog run.
SRM, which is building on a site once slated for a seven-story, 118-unit apartment complex, is already in construction at its first L.A.-area development: a 134-unit senior housing project in Culver City. The company could soon go for a hat trick, with plans to couple senior apartments with small lot homes on Ventura Boulevard in Studio City.
