Non-profit developer A Community of Friends has completed work on Huntington Square, a new supportive housing complex in the City of Huntington Park.
Located on a previously vacant site at 6101-6123 State Street, the project consists of a four-story building featuring 48 apartments for seniors who are veterans, low-income, and homeless. The apartments come in studio and one-bedroom floor plans, save for a manager's unit.
According to a July 2022 staff report to the L.A. County Board of Supervisors, the apartments are to be reserved for households earning at or below 30, 50, and 60 percent of the area median income level.
FSY Architects is designing the contemporary low-rise building, which is clad in stucco and corrugated metal panels.
Other recent projects from A Community of Friends include the Lorena Plaza development in Boyle Heights and a proposed 96-unit apartment building in Sun Valley.
