In South Los Angeles, a supportive housing complex from Restore Neighborhoods L.A. and Holos Communities is on the rise at the intersection of 62nd Street and Normandie Avenue.

The project, called Sunnyside, sits at the southwest corner of the intersection, on a parcel at 1408 W. 62nd Street and 6201 S. Normandie Avenue. The new four-story edifice will feature 27 apartments - including 26 units of supportive housing - with on-site social services.

"Rising above the central entranceway and foyer are four story towers with outdoor staircases and landings," reads a narrative from a landing page on the Holos website. "Significant windows and natural light create an uplifted atmosphere, allowing for passive heating and cooling which reduces energy consumption. Landscaping with native plants and trees creates cooler shaded areas while reducing water use and provides private spaces for residents. Residents will enjoy a rooftop deck with furniture and landscaping, long term bicycle parking and a community room."

City records indicate that Lehrer Architects is designing Sunnyside, while Studio-MLA is serving as landscape architect.

Completion of the building is expected in 2025.

Holos and RNLA are also co-developing a similar project at 405 N. Westlake Avenue in Historic Filipinotown.
