In Central-Alameda, exterior work is taking shape for a new permanent supportive housing complex from locally-based developer Highridge Costa.
The project, located on a previously vacant site at 2106-2122 S. Central Avenue, consists of a five-story building which will feature 57 studio and one-bedroom apartments above seven parking spaces for on-site staff.
Egan Simon Architecture is designing the contemporary podium-type building, which is shown in plans with balconies, a street-level recreation room, and a podium-level outdoor deck.
Funding for the project includes a variety of public sources, including Measure HHH.
Highridge Costa, in addition to its new Central-Alameda project, previously developed another Measure HHH-funded affordable housing complex near Exposition Park, and a 57-unit affordable building on Main Street.
