The Ratkovich Company announced this week that Cal State University, Los Angeles has signed a 12,051-square-foot lease to create a satellite campus at The Alhambra, a 40-acre mixed-use complex located at 1000 S. Fremont Avenue in the City of Alhambra.

“Taking space at The Alhambra will enable our faculty and students to engage in important learning and research and provide much-needed assistance to the communities we serve,” said Jose A. Gomez, Cal State LA executive vice president and chief operating officer said in a release. “The location is minutes from the university, and our students and faculty will appreciate the attractive surroundings and the close proximity of The Alhambra to amenities.”

The Alhambra has already played host to other higher-education institutions, including the University of Southern California, Alliant International University, and Platt College.

Kevin Duffy, senior vice president for CBRE, represented The Alhambra in the deal, and Will Adams, executive managing director for NKF, represented Cal State LA.

As of 2017, Ratkovich is also pursuing a proposed development which could add over 1,000 apartments and condominiums to the campus.

The company's ongoing projects also include the San Pedro Public Market, a $150-million retail and entertainment center on the L.A. Waterfront.
