Nearly one year after starting work just off of Normandie Avenue in Gardena, a small mixed-use project from Los Angeles-based real estate firm South Bay Developers has reached its peak.
The new development, located on the former site of the Gardena Valley YWCA at 1341 Gardena Boulevard, consists of a three-story, approximately 22,700-square-foot building on the property which will feature 15 apartments above ground-floor commercial space.
A rendering posted to the South Bay Developers website depicts the finished product as a contemporary low-rise building with a brick exterior on its two lower levels and a rooftop terrace above.
South Bay Developers, in addition to its Gardena project, is also in the midst of construction on two larger mixed-use buildings on 5th and 7th Streets in Downtown San Pedro.
The Gardena development sits just east of Normandie Avenue, where construction is now underway for 30 townhomes on a site located a few blocks north. Likewise, work was completed last year for a new SRO-style apartment building a few blocks to the south.
