Another week, another plan for new affordable housing using the Mayor's Executive Direct 1 by Golshan Properties.
This week, a notice indicates that the Beverly Hills-based firm has plans for a site that is currently a surface parking lot at 1627 S. Oak Street in Pico-Union. The project, which would rise directly northwest of the I-10/I-110 interchange, calls for the construction of a new four-story, 45-foot-tall building featuring 35 apartments.
A description of the proposed building states that the apartments would consist of 15 very low-income units, 19 low-income units, and one market-rate manager's unit. Additionally, the complex 15,811-square-foot building would have 32 bicycle parking spaces, but no on-site automobile parking.
Golshan, in addition to its new Gramercy Park development, has also pitched affordable housing for sites located in Boyle Heights, Gramercy Park, and Mid-City.
The firm already has one other project in the works for Pico-Union, as well: a 31-unit development which would rise at 1604 W. 11th Street.
