Midway between Normandie and Vermont Avenues in the Adams-Normandie neighborhood, wood framing is taking shape for a new townhome-style apartment complex.

The project from Dream City Funding, Inc., located at 1581 W. Adams Boulevard, consists of two three-story structures featuring seven residential units in a format which resembles a small lot subdivision. Plans call for four-bedroom floor plans, each located above a two-car garage.

KSK Design, Inc. is designing 1581 Adams, which features a Spanish Revival-style exterior, and a courtyard-style layout with automobile access located to the rear of each unit.

Renderings shown at a February 2019 meeting of the Adams-Normandie Historic Preservation Overlay Zone Board portray the finished project with a white stucco exterior and a red tile roof.

The new residential building is one of a handful of infill developments now in the works along Adams to the west of Vermont Avenue, following a mixed-use apartment complex recently completed at 1421 Adams and proposed projects at 1500 and 1724 Adams.

Dream City Funding and KSK have also been attached to a larger multifamily project at 11th Street and Oxford Avenue in Koreatown.
