Construction is underway for a new supportive housing complex just north of Temple Street in Historic Filipinotown.

Loma Verde, a joint venture between Holos Communities and Restore Neighborhoods L.A., will rise from a 4500-square-foot lot at 405 N. Westlake Avenue. Plans call for a four-story building with 18 apartments and no on-site parking.

“Loma Verde is a testament to solving the housing and homelessness crisis by maximizing what can be achieved in a very small lot. 18 units situated on a 4500 square foot lot, approximately half of a typical single family home lot in much of LA,” said Holos Communities executive director and chief executive officer Cristian Ahumada. “This is the way we solve it – through sophistication and efficiency.”

The project, one of two which Holos is developing with Restore Neighborhoods L.A., was delayed by bot the global pandemic and the inflation that followed. It is among several projects awarded Measure HHH challenge funds.

Holos Communities is also developing housing in Panorama City and Wilmington, among other neighborhoods.
