A single-family home just north of Oxnard Street in North Hollywood could make way for affordable housing, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed project from Building Bloch Capital, slated for a property at 6010 N. Klump Avenue, would be entitled and permitted using the streamlined procedures created by the Mayor's Executive Directive 1. Plans call for the new construction of a six-story building featuring 53 studio and one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.

As all of the apartments would be reserved for low-income households, save for a single market-rate manager's unit, the project would also be eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than zoning rules would normally allow.

Aero Collective is designing the contemporary low-rise structure, which would be clad in painted cement plaster.

The proposed development is one of several recent proposals for affordable housing in North Hollywood, including a similar 38-unit building which would rise at 10912 W. Huston Street.
