The project, located at 2471 Lincoln Boulevard, consists of a four-story building featuring 40 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments with 10 parking stalls and on-site supportive services.

“This is such a great opportunity! Being housed has relieved me of many worries, allowed me to
focus on my interests and have some joy back in my life,” said RJ, a tenant at The Journey, in a news release.

Studio One Eleven designed the low-rise development, which also includes new plaza and a courtyard, as well as space for the non-profit organization Safe Place for Youth at street level.

Other recent projects from Venice Community Housing include a similar supportive housing complex on Rose Avenue and a new apartment building slated for Santa Monica. The non-profit developer is also a partner in a project which would rise from a city-owned parking lot on the Venice Canals, although that has faced staunch opposition from Venice residents and even local elected officials.

Funding for the project came through a variety of state and local sources.
