In Panorama City, Holos Communities has announced the completion of Corazón del Valle, a new affordable and supportive housing complex built on the former site of an L.A. County office building.

Located at 14545 Lanark Street, the project consists of 180 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments, including  178 homes reserved for formerly unhoused persons and low-income households. Holos, citing feedback received from community organizations in Panorama City, built a project with 50 percent more housing than originally intended for the site in 2019.

“This is exactly where we need to be siting density” said Holos Communities executive director and chief executive officer Cristian Ahumada. “First comes public transportation then housing.  In a place like Los Angeles, this is a challenge, but the Corazones are exactly where we need to go up.  By siting in a transit-oriented community, the CDVs reduce the need for parking and provides tenants affordable and equitable access to the rest of Los Angeles.”

Perkins&Will designed the stucco-clad, podium-type apartment complex, which has space at the ground floor for the San Fernando Valley Community Health Clinic. The clinic will provide medical care, dental work, and behavioral health services.

Holos Communities, in addition to its work in Panorama City, also is also developing supportive housing at sites in Wilmington and Long Beach.
