A single-family home in Glassell Park could be razed and redeveloped with an Executive Directive 1 affordable housing complex, per a recent filing with the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.
The proposed project, which comes from an entity affiliated with Angeleno Investments, would rise from a property near Forest Lawn cemetery at 3342 N. Chapman Street. Plans call for the construction of a new four-story building containing 38 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.
In addition ED1 streamlining, requested entitlements include density bonus incentives to permit waivers from certain zoning rules. All of the homes would be set aside for rent by low- and moderate-income households, save for a manager's apartment.
Open Office is designing the project, which is shown in plans with an exterior of metal and fiber cement panels.
Angeleno Investments and Open Office are also attached similar affordable housing developments planned at 6942 Baird Avenue in Reseda and 10912 Huston Street in North Hollywood.
