Meta Housing Corp. is planning its third affordable housing complex in the Warner Center specific plan area, according to a new application to the Department of City Planning.
The developer's latest project, slated for a site at 21010 Vanowen Street, calls for the demolition of an existing one-story office building and parking lot to clear the way for a new six-story edifice featuring 395 senior apartments with parking for 54 vehicles.
The project, which would take advantaged of streamlined processing using Executive Directive 1, would provide a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments restricted to rent by low- and moderate-income households.
Y&M Architects is designing the project, according to plans found through ATC. Images show a building clad in brick veneer.
A staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee indicates that the project is a joint venture with the Foundation for Affordable Housing and has an estimated budget of $124.7 million - or $315,797 per unit.
Elsewhere in Warner Center, Meta Housing is currently in construction on an affordable housing complex with 301 apartments at 21300 Oxnard Street and has plans for a 232-unit development on De Soto Street.
