A collection of small residential buildings in Hollywood are slated to give way to a large apartment complex, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed project from Jonathan Harouni of Croft 925, LLC, slated for a property at 925 N. Croft Avenue, calls for the construction of a seven-story, approximately 50,000-square-foot building featuring 33 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above a 55-car garage.

Requested approvals include development bonuses using the Citywide Housing Incentive Program, permitting a larger and taller building than would have otherwise been allowed by zoning rules. In exchange, seven apartments are to be set aside for rent by low- and extremely low-income renters.

Kevin Tsai Architecture is designing 925 Croft, which is portrayed in plans as a contemporary podium-type building clad in painted plaster and wood slats. Plans also show a large rooftop amenity deck.

The same project team is also attached to a proposed development at 1st Street and Normandie Avenue in Koreatown.

The project is located one block to the south of a larger 67-unit apartment complex now taking shape at 1000 N. Alfred Street.
