In March, developer Holos Communities broke ground on a permanent supportive housing complex in Wilmington. In April, Holos Communities once again broke ground on a supportive housing complex in Wilmington.

At a ceremony last week, Holos and partner TPC Homes commenced construction on Safe Harbor I, a project located at 828 W. Anaheim Street. Plans call for the construction of a four-story building featuring50 two-bedroom apartments - one of which would be set aside for an on-site manager.

"The ground floor includes a community room that utilizes large glass openings overlooking natural planted and paved plaza-like spaces with opportunities for social interaction," states a landing page from the Holos Communities website. "At the main site entry, the project provides staff offices for case managers, property management, a supervisor as well as a meeting space. Picnic areas and seating are nested in native plantings and are distributed throughout tenant areas on the ground floor. Common roof decks are provided on level 2 and the roof with seating and planters providing social spaces for upper-level tenants with direct visual connection to neighboring streets and the central court."

LOHA is designing the contemporary low-rise structure.

Completion of Safe Harbor I is expected in Winter 2027.

Along with the sister project, located at 728 Lagoon Avenue, the project team is building 90 new homes in the area.
