An apartment building located east of Vermont Avenue in Los Feliz is poised to give way to new affordable housing via the Mayor's Executive Directive 1.
The proposed development from SCAH-LA, slated for a property located at 4581 W. Finley Avenue, would replace a pair of 1950s apartment buildings with a new nine-story edifice featuring 210 studio and one-bedroom dwellings above a 25-car garage.
As a fully affordable housing development, the project would be eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger structure than typically allowed by zoning rules.
MVE + Partners is designing the contemporary mid-rise structure, according to plans included with the filing.
SCAH-LA is attached to a number of a similar affordable housing developments planned across the City of Los Angeles, including two projects which would bring nearly 500 homes to sites on Westwood Boulevard in West Los Angeles. Those projects are also being designed by MVE + Partners.
