Nine months after breaking ground in Hollywood, a new development from EAH Housing is now fully framed at 843-849 N. La Brea Avenue.
The Pointe on La Brea, which replaced an automobile repair shop, consists of a five-story building that will eventually feature 50 apartments above at-grade parking for five vehicles.
The project will include 49 income-restricted units, according to a 2020 application for tax credit financing, which each reserved formerly homeless renters earning no more than 30 percent of the area median income. At the time of the staff report, the apartments were expected to rent for $592 per month.
Designed by FSY Architects, the Pointe on La Brea is depicted in a rendering with a contemporary exterior. Plans call for a community room, a courtyard, and a rooftop deck, in addition to housing.
The total estimated cost of the project, at $32.3 million, amounts to a per-unit price tag of $647,000.
EAH Housing, in addition to the La Brea development, is also planning or building new projects in Santa Monica, West Hollywood, and South Los Angeles.
