The project, submitted yesterday to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning for review, would rise from a site located at 1275 Sunset Boulevard. Plans call for the construction of a five-to-eight-story building featuring 162 studio and one-bedroom apartments without parking.

According to findings included with the project application, the housing would include a mix of low- and moderate-income units, as well as a single market-rate manager's unit.

Kevin Tsai Architecture is designing the project, with JZA Architecture serving as architect of record.. The complex is to be clad in metal panels.

The 1275 Sunset site - previously slated for a smaller, predominantly market-rate development - follows three other affordable housing developments which Harris has in the works at sites across Echo Park.
