Ten months since our last in-person update, vertical construction is complete for a mixed-use apartment complex at the edge of Downtown Burbank.

The project from LaTerra Development, located on an eight-acre site at 777 N. Front Street, is being developed as a joint venture with QuadReal Property Group. The podium-type complex will feature 573 residential units - including 69 units of deed-restricted affordable housing - as well as a 307-room hotel and commercial space.

Urban Architecture Lab is designing the apartment complex, which has recently been renamed "Intro." The eight-story building, in addition to housing, will include a 40,000-square-foot rooftop deck with two swimming pools, a fitness center, co-working space, and screening rooms, among other amenities.

Completion of Intro is expected in 2025, the Downtown Burbank Property Based Business Improvement District announced earlier this year.

The new development is also accompanied by upgrade to surrounding streets, including two-way bike lanes, a transit plaza, and new stairs and an elevator to help connect the site to the neighboring Burbank Metrolink Station.

LaTerra has even bigger plans elsewhere in Burbank - most notably a more than 800-unit apartment complex proposed near Hollywood Burbank Airport. LaTerra founder Charles Tourtellotte recently told the L.A. Business Journal that the company is on pace to become Burbank's biggest residential developer.
