East End Studios has secured a $130-million construction loan for a new office and studio complex just east of the Los Angeles River in Boyle Heights.
The financing, arranged by a CBRE Debt and Structured Finance team led by Greg Grant, will go toward the construction of the $230-million East End Studios - Mission campus, now underway just south of the Sixth Street Viaduct at 2233 E. Jesse Street. Plans call for five soundstages with a combined area of 100,000 square feet, as well as 150,000 square feet of offices, post-production spaces, and other ancillary features.
“Demand for premier, purpose-built studio space remains strong in Los Angeles, and is expected to further accelerate as we enter the 2025 production cycle” said said Grant, a senior vice president of CBRE. “Ultimately it was East End’s studio expertise and state-of-the-art design that gave our capital sources conviction in the project.”
Construction of the Mission Campus is on track for completion in late 2025.
Bell Design Group is the architecture firm attached to the project, according to city records.
Work on the Boyle Heights development comes shortly after East End Studios completed its first project in Los Angeles County - a smaller 96,000-square-foot complex in Glendale. That project was also designed by Bell Design Group.
East End Studios, an affiliate of East End Capital, has even bigger plans in the pipeline, including a proposed 406,000-square-foot campus in Glendale and a more than 700,000-square-foot development in the Arts District.
