After nearly three years of work, Gelson's has made its debut in Toluca Lake.

The new 9,672-square-foot store, located on the ground-floor of a newly-built mixed-use building at 10067 Riverside Drive, is a new small-format store. In addition to key offerings include meat and seafood departments, produce, grocery items, flowers, kosher selections, baked goods, and a wine cellar, it will also offer a coffee bar, a Thrifty Ice Cream counter, and a cafe-style sidewalk.

“This store was envisioned with local tastes in mind,” said Gelson's chief executive officer Ryan Adams in a news release. “It brings together fresh ingredients, thoughtfully selected groceries, and restaurant-quality food to-go with Gelson’s signature service and hospitality. We can’t wait to open the doors and welcome everyone into this space designed for the neighborhood.”

The Gelson's is located on the ground floor of a four-story apartment building featuring 37 studio, one-, and two-bedroom units on its upper floors. Project entitlements include Transit Oriented Communities incentives, allowing a larger building than normally permitted by zoning. In exchange, plans the apartments will include four extremely low-income affordable units.
