At the intersection of 5th Street and Broadway, framing has reached its peak for a mixed-use apartment complex from Tishman Speyer in Downtown Santa Monica.

The eight-story building, located at 501 Broadway, will include 89 apartments above ground-floor commercial space and subterranean parking for 71 vehicles. Plans also call for 18 of the new apartments are to be set aside as deed-restricted affordable housing priced for renters earning between 30 and 100 percent of the area median income level.

KFA Architecture is serving as architect of record for the project, taking over from the entitlement design by Michael W. Folonis Architects. Plans call for a contemporary white-colored building featuring a rooftop amenity deck.

The project is one of four Tishman Speyer development now underway in Downtown Santa Monica, joining new buildings rising at 1430 Lincoln Boulevard, 1650 Lincoln Boulevard, and 711 Colorado Avenue.

The development site also sits directly across Broadway from The Park Santa Monica, a larger mixed-use complex from Witkoff and New Valley, LLC.
