Across the street from Memorial Park in Santa Monica, another office complex from Redcar Properties is on the rise.
The project, which replaces a small brick building and a parking area at 1640 14th Street, is approved for the construction of a three-story building which will feature approximately 36,500 square feet of office space atop 2,500 square feet of ground-floor retail uses and basement parking for 61 vehicles.
HGA is designing the proposed development, which is portrayed in renderings as a contemporary low-rise structure with an exterior of glass an aluminum. The building would have a C-shaped footprint above its first floor, wrapping a central courtyard. Additional open space would be provided at the rooftop.
A Loopnet profile for the site advertises a 2024 completion date.
Redcar, which is based in Santa Monica, has developed a number of similar office projects throughout its hometown, including another under-construction development one block to the west at 1650 Euclid Street and a 47,000-square-foot complex planned next door at 1630 Euclid.
The 14th Street site is also located directly across the alley Euclid Court from a site slated for a similar three-story structure which would contain just over 26,000 square feet of offices.
