Construction is complete for a large mixed-use project across the street from BMO Stadium in Exposition Park.

The Standard at Los Angeles, developed by Georgia-based Landmark Properties, replaced a large surface parking lot at 3900 S. Figueroa Street. The new eight-story building includes 429 studio, one-, two-, three-, four-, and five-bedroom apartments (or a total of 1,236 beds) above 15,000 square feet of retail space. The project also retained five existing townhomes along the eastern side of the property, which provide space for an additional 48 residents.

Rents for one-bedroom units start at $1,317 per month, according to a leasing website. That price would not apply to the 87 very low- and extremely low-income housing units included in the project as a condition of approval.

HED is the architect of record for the development, which is composed of wood-frame construction wrapping a central parking garage for guests, residents, and attendees of events in Exposition Park. On-site amenities include a rooftop pool deck, a club room, a fitness center, multiple study lounges, and five interior courtyards.

All apartments come fully-furnished, according to a Landmark Properties news release.

The property is the third for Landmark within the near vicinity of the USC campus, whose students are a target market for the project. Landmark has also put its stamp on the Westwood neighborhood, with a recently-completed building near the UCLA campus and a proposed 12-story tower on Landfair Avenue.

Completion of the Standard, which is one of several similar housing projects in the works along the Figueroa corridor near USC, marks the conclusion of a 10-year journey which began with the initiation of the project's entitlement application with the City of Los Angeles in 2016. Under prior ownership, the project had been poised to include a hotel and a high-rise tower.
