In Torrance, the wrapping is off for a new mixed-use apartment complex at the former site of Gable House Bowl.
The Gable House Apartments, developed by Intracorp Homes, sits on a 3.8-acre property at 22501 Hawthorne Boulevard. The project includes 218 studio, one-, and two-bedroom apartments above 12,000 square feet of ground-floor retail space. The property wraps a central parking structure with space for 460 vehicles.
Advertised rents range from $3,042 to $5,082 per month. Those amounts do not apply to 17 income-restricted units, which are included in the project as a condition of approval.
VTBS Architects designed the wrap-type apartment complex, which was inspired post-modern gables of the former bowling alley. Besides housing, the building includes amenities such as a fitness center, a swimming pool, co-working space, and other outdoor decks.
The project team also included interior designer Preen, Inc., landscape architecture firm Urban Arena, and construction firm Snyder Langston.
Other Southern California projects from Intracorp include a recently-announced plan for 49 townhomes in Alhambra.
