In Glassell Park, exterior finishes are now taking shape at the Wylden apartments, a new development from Fairfield Residential located near the Glendale Freeway and the L.A. River.

The project, which replaced an industrial facility at 2910 San Fernando Road, will include 370 one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments wrapping around a central 600-car parking garage.

In exchange for density bonus incentives, Fairfield will be required to set aside 31 of the apartments as deed-restricted affordable housing at the very low-income level.

AO is designing the Wylden, which includes a five-story structure on its perimeter. The complex has a contemporary appearance, and will include amenities such as courtyards, a fitness center, and a rooftop deck.

Completion of the Wylden is expected this year, per a landing page on the Fairfield Residential website.

Fairfield has recently built several large multifamily developments in the City of Los Angeles, including the Ox on Vela and Chroma apartments in Warner Center, as well as the Aliso development in the Arts District. Fairfield has also secured approvals to build a large mixed-use project next to Dinah's restaurant in Westchester.
