At the border between the City of Glendale and Atwater Village, framing is complete for a multifamily residential building from developer Gagandeep Lakhmna.

The project, located at 1838 Brand Boulevard, was entitled for development by Toledo Homes in 2018. Approved plans permitted the construction of a five-story building featuring 80 studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments above 139 parking spaces in a basement garage.

As a condition of approval, 10 of the new apartments are to be reserved as affordable housing.

At the time of approval Alajajian Marcoosi Architects was designing the project.

According to Los Angeles County records, the property was sold to Lakhmna in 2022 for approximately $8.1 million. Lakhmna's other Los Angeles area projects include a 68-unit apartment complex built in East Hollywood and a 203-unit mixed-use complex now rising in Warner Center.
