In Downtown Santa Monica, Related California has completed work on a $385-million mixed-use project just north of the E Line's western terminus.

The eight-story, named 700 Broadway for its address, includes 196 market-rate residential units and 84 affordable homes in a mix of studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom floor plans. Additionally, the project includes a 60,000-square-foot Vons supermarket on the ground floor and a 34,000-square-foot Equinox Fitness Club.

“More than just a place to live, 700 Broadway will be the ultimate living experience in one of America’s most storied beach towns,” says Related California president Gino Canori in a news release. “The opportunity to revitalize an entire city block over the past three years has allowed us to deliver a residential development without compromise, combining quality homes with state-of-the-art wellness and a new grocery store for the entire neighborhood.”

Large Architecture is designing the 710 Broadway, which presents unique looks along each of its three street frontages: Broadway, 7th Street, and Lincoln Boulevard to the east. A roughly three-quarter-acre courtyard sits at the center of the building, which has more than 60,000 square feet of amenities.

Other members of the design team included Marmol Radziner, which was responsible for interior design, and landscape architecture firm Studio-MLA.

Per a leasing website, rents for the building start at $3,995 for a studio, $5,555 for a one-bedroom units, $8,400 for two-bedroom units, and $12,450 for three-bedroom units. Those prices do not apply to the 84 affordable units, which are earmarked for very low- and moderate-income households, and are separately managed by Community Corp. of Santa Monica.

Related California's other recent projects in Southern California include the $1-billion Grand Avenue Project in Downtown Los Angeles and a sprawling mixed-use project slated for the site of the Metro Town Square mall in Santa Ana. The company previously developed a $350-million housing complex adjacent to Tongva Park.
