Meta Housing Corp. has commenced work on its third Warner Center specific plan project, according to construction permits recently issued by the Los Angeles Department of Building and Safety.
The West Los Angeles-based firm's latest project, located at 21010 Vanowen Street, was entitled in 2025, and calls for the construction of a new six-story building featuring 395 senior apartments with parking for 54 vehicles.
Plans call for a mix of one- and two-bedroom apartments, all of which would be restricted to rent by low- and moderate-income households save for mandatory manager's facilities.
Y&M Architects is designing 21010 Vanowen, which is shown in a rendering with an exterior of brick veneer.
Per a staff report to the California Tax Credit Allocation Committee, the project is a joint venture with the Foundation for Affordable Housing and has an estimated budget of $124.7 million - or $315,797 per unit.
The project will fill out a block within the Warner Center specific plan that has already been redeveloped with large, market-rate buildings, such as Fairfield Residential's Chroma apartments.
Elsewhere in Warner Center, Meta Housing is developing a two-phase project consisting of 301 apartments at 21300 Oxnard Street and broke ground recently on a 232-unit development on De Soto Street.
