A 1950s apartment buildings just off of the Sawtelle neighborhood's namesake street is up for redevelopment with affordable housing via the Mayor's Executive Directive 1, per a recent application to the Los Angeles Department of City Planning.

The proposed development, slated to replace 10 existing rental units at 1723 S. Corinth Avenue, would consist of a five-story building featuring 42 one-bedroom apartments without on-site parking.

Plans rely on density bonus incentives to achieve the proposed building envelope and number of apartments. All of the apartments are to be reserved for rent by low- and moderate-income households, making the project eligible for the incenties.

Aaron Brumer & Associates is designing 1723 Corinth, according to plans included with the entitlement package. A rendering shows a contemporary low-rise structure capped by a rooftop deck.

City records list the owner of the site as Lido Equities, while Seachange Partners is listed as developer.

Other recent ED1 projects in the Sawtelle area include a proposed 53-unit development at 1747 Stoner Avenue.
