Next to the Los Angeles River in Frogtown, work is just about finished for Lilian, a new townhome development from Harridge Development Group.
Located at 1771 W. Blake Avenue, the project site is approved for 100 small lot homes and a small amount of commercial space. Harridge also has approvals for the construction 17 condominiums and commercial space on the opposite side of Blake Avenue.
City records indicate WHA designed the contemporary three-story townhomes.
The new development is the latest in a recent string of housing development in Frogtown, including a small lot subdivision from Watt Companies and a 52-unit apartment complex from Uncommon. Construction is also underway for a 35-unit live/work development a few blocks to the south from Pan Am Equities.
Though a larger project for Frogtown, is it relatively modest in scale for Harridge, which has plans for high-rise towers at the Crossroads Hollywood complex on Sunset Boulevard and a revamp and expansion of the Baldwin Hills Crenshaw Plaza mall.
