Another day,  another Executive Directive 1 affordable housing development is coming to Del Rey from Los Angeles-based developer Passo.

The latest project, unearthed using ATC, is slated for a property located at 1734 S. Barrington Avenue in Sawtelle. Plans call for razing an existing triplex - completed in 1950 - to clear the way for the construction of a new six-story building featuring 37 studio and one-bedroom apartments.

The proposed apartments are to be rented by very low-, low-, and moderate-income households, save for a single market-rate manager's unit. That would make the project eligible for density bonus incentives permitting a larger building than otherwise allowed by zoning rules.

Aero Collective is designing the building, which is depicted in an illustration as a contemporary low-rise structure.

Passo, in addition to its proposed project on Barrington Avenue, is pursuing similar ED1 projects on Stoner Avenue in Sawtelle and on Centinela Avenue in Del Rey.
